We have compiled a selection of plants that we consider to be drought tolerant. These mature trees, after an initial period of irrigation, have proven to be extremely drought tolerant. After planting a mature tree we recommend that you irrigate them for the first 6 - 12 months, this ensures a well-established root system that is able to withstand long periods of drought. A tree with a large root surface area, is able to uptake more available water than a tree with a small root system.
