Description:
Dogwoods are a small deciduous tree often used as a garden statement. The Rubra produces a blanket of red/pink flowers in Spring. The flowers have four distinct petals that stand tall on the stiff horizontal horizontal branches. Summer foliage is lush green accentuated by orange red fruits that are attractive to birds. Autumn foliage is scarlet red and orange. Likes cool conditions. Plant in protected position. Dislikes poor, shallow or chalk soils.
