Tree Information - Oak-Holly or Holm

Botanical Name: Quercus ilex
Common Name: Oak-Holly or Holm
Description: Slow growing evergreen tree with a broad-domed canopy. Good tree for all areas, including coastal. Small thick grey-green leaves, felted underneath, serrated on young trees, smooth edged on older trees. Black trunk. Egg shaped acorns which are sweet & edible. Requires plenty of moisture & full sun. Grows approximately30cm per year.
