Drought tolerant trees

We have compiled a selection of plants that we consider to be drought tolerant.  These trees, after an initial period of irrigation, have proven to be extremely drought tolerant. After planting we recommend that you irrigate them for the first 6 - 12 months, this ensures a well-established root system that is able to withstand long periods of drought.  A tree with a large root surface area, is able to uptake more available water than a tree with a small root system.
